BBQ-flavoured turkey pittas

    Turkey meat cooked in a BBQ or chilli sauce with peppers and onions served in a warm pitta with soured cream and salad. A healthy midweek supper that goes down well with all the family.

    Makes: 4 filled pitta

    • drizzle of oil for frying
    • 260g turkey, diced
    • 1 packet BBQ chicken seasoning, such as Schwartz®
    • 2 tablespoons water
    • 2 red onions, chopped
    • 1 red pepper, chopped
    • 1 green pepper, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon dried chilli flakes
    • 4 pitta breads
    • mixed salad to serve
    • soured cream to serve

    1. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Fry turkey till browned, then add seasoning mix and water. Add onions, peppers and chilli flakes. Cook on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
    2. Warm pitta bread in microwave for 20 seconds.
    3. Fill pittas with turkey mixture add soured cream and salad.
