Honey bears - honey and cinnamon biscuits

    50 min

If you are wondering how to keep your little one occupied on Sunday afternoon, try these cute honey and cinnamon bear biscuits. The ingredients are not expensive at all and you use honey which is good for you and your kids.

    10 people made this

    Serves: 4

    • 2 eggs
    • 225g caster sugar
    • 240ml melted lard or vegetable oil
    • 5 to 6 tablespoons honey
    • 60g walnuts
    • 315g plain flour, or as needed
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 bar chocolate to decorate

    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:50min

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Beat the eggs with the sugar and the lard or vegetable oil to mix well, then add the rest of the ingredients except the chocolate to make a soft dough.
    3. Line a tin with baking paper and start making the bears. Make a small ball and flatten it a bit to make the body, another flattened ball for the head, press it lightly to the body to stick. Use the same technique for the other parts - hands, legs and the nose.
    4. Bake in a preheated oven until the edges start getting golden. The rest would appear soft but will harden when cooled down.
    5. Decorate with melted chocolate (break a bar of chocolate in a heatproof vessel and put it in water on low temperature, stirring constantly; you can use the microwave too but on low setting and for a very short time, stir, then put back again for a short time, otherwise the chocolate will burn)

To store the biscuits for longer (if that's possible :) you can put them in a airtight container and put a whole apple or carrot inside.
