Easy shortbread biscuits

    The best shortbread biscuits you will ever taste. They're the easiest, too, mixed in seconds in the food processor.

    Makes: 24 

    • 450g (1lb) plain flour
    • 225g (8oz) butter
    • 110g (4oz) icing sugar

    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
    2. Add all ingredients to a food processor.
    3. Mix until it turns into a dough. Roll out, not too thin. Cut using a circular biscuit cutter or even a glass. Put on a baking tray.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven until slightly brown at the edges but still pale, about 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.

    Very dry dough. I made it work, but it definitely needs a drop of milk and possibly a little cinnamon to stop it being overly plain.  -  29 Aug 2013


    this recipe was easy. But I found I had to add a little milk to make the dough stick together, it was dry. I also added apples and cinnamon to mine: delicious!  -  06 Feb 2013


    well thought when we was weighing the ingredients seemed too much flour for the amount of butter and sugar so we had to add a little water as it was really dry. they were easy to do and baked well but crumbly. tip; use a little less flour than recipe as you can always add to it.but they were nice tasting though  -  08 Mar 2016
