Crunchy chewy oaty biscuits

    It's all in the name - these biscuits are chewy crunchy and sooooo moreish. I hope you enjoy them! :-)

    Makes: 12 

    • 120g (4oz) butter
    • 2 tablespoons honey
    • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
    • 120g (4oz) brown sugar or granulated sugar
    • 120g (4oz) plain flour
    • 180g (6oz) porridge oats

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:10min cooling  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Slowly melt butter and honey. Take off heat and stir in bicarbonate of soda.
    3. Place the sugar, flour and oats into a bowl, add in the wet mixture, stir and cool slightly.
    4. Put knobs of the mixture onto greased baking trays.
    5. Pop into the oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool, put the kettle on, make yourself a cuppa, sit back and enjoy.


    Add any dried fruit to the mix for a different taste.

    Not sure what went wrong, maybe the oats were too big ? Anyway, was too dry for biscuits so squidged it into a tray and turned into flapjack  -  20 Dec 2012
