About this recipe:
The perfect shortbread cookies to have with tea. These have only three ingredients - could not be simpler!
Makes: 24 cookies
250g (9oz) plain flour
75g (3oz) caster sugar
175g (6oz) butter
Extra time:5min cooling ›
- Heat the oven to 160 C / Gas 2 1/2. Grease a baking tray.
- Mix flour and sugar in a bowl, rub in butter. Knead well to form a smooth paste.
- Divide into two equal parts, shape and flatten into rounds, about 1cm thick. Cut into fingers, and decorate with fork markings. Place on the baking tray.
- Bake until pale and golden, about 30 minutes.
