Spicy puff pastry twists

    These crunchy starters are flavoured with a surprising combination of curry, lemon, paprika, cheese and herbes de Provence.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 sheets puff pastry
    • 3 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1 teaspoon curry powder
    • 1 lemon, juiced
    • 40g grated Gruyère cheese
    • 1 teaspoon herbes de Provence

    1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
    2. Unroll the puff pastry and trim the edges to form a rectangle. Brush the pastry with olive oil. Cut the pastry into three equal rectangles.
    3. Sprinkle the paprika on one rectangle. Sprinkle the curry powder and lemon juice on the second rectangle. Sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese and herbes de Provence on the third rectangle.
    4. Cut each rectangle into narrow strips and twist one strip from each rectangle together to make the twists, and place on the prepared baking tray.
    5. Bake in the preheated oven until golden, 5 to 7 minutes.
