Green beans with garlic and thyme

    Green beans are my favourite vegetable. If I make meat, I sometimes saute the green beans in the meat juices in place of olive oil.

    Serves: 4 

    • 500g green beans, trimmed
    • 4 tablespoons olive oil
    • 5 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 large pinch dried thyme
    • 1 pinch coarse salt

    1. Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the green beans until tender, about 10 minutes.
    2. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat for 3 minutes. Cook and stir the green beans, garlic and thyme for 2 minutes. Season with salt.

    This recipe is simple. So delicious. So outstanding! Kosher salt makes it superb! I even used microwavable green beans instead of boiled green beans and it was sooo tasty!! Go green!  -  15 Apr 2014
