Apple and nut baked Brie

Apple and nut baked Brie

Be the first to make this!

About this recipe: I adapted this from another recipe I found on the site. We ate our baked Brie with green salad and everyone really liked it, even my teenage daughter who does not like Brie! It can also be served with boiled potatoes for a super-easy and quick meal that's a nice change from the usual.

Serves: 6

  • 2 apples - cored, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 500g Brie cheese
  • 1 large handful walnuts or pecans
  • 3 tablespoons honey

  1. Preheat oven to 150 C / Gas 3. Cook the apples in the microwave with a teaspoon of water for 2 or 3 minutes to soften slightly.
  2. Lightly grease a baking dish and place the Brie in the centre. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with walnuts or pecans.
  3. Arrange cooked apples all around the cheese and bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes, until the centre of the cheese is melted.

Yes, we liked it. Next time will add more honey and perhaps cream and Demerara sugar. Naughty ! - 25 May 2015
