About this recipe: Ideal for parties or for dinner served with chips. Kids are sure to love them too, and they can help to make them.

Serves: 6 

  • 6 white pitta breads
  • 6 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
  • 3 tomatoes, sliced
  • 6 slices salami, torn into small pieces
  • 100g Cheddar cheese,grated

  1. Preheat the grill.
  2. Place the pitta breads on a large baking tray, spread each pitta bread with 1 tablespoon of the tomato puree, sprinkle mixed herbs over the top of each, then lay on the tomato slices. Divide the salami between the pittas and sprinkle over the cheese.
  3. Grill until the cheese is golden and bubbling, about 5 minutes.

Serving suggestion

Serve with chips or on their own for parties.
