About this recipe: This marinade is very useful for BBQs or grilling. This recipe lends itself very well to putting everything for the marinade into a food processor and whizzing it. DON'T put the meat in though!

Serves: 4 

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 (2.5cm) piece root ginger, grated
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons clear honey
  • 3 teaspoons Tabasco® green pepper sauce
  • 4 chicken legs or 8 wings
  • 4 fish fillets

Prep:5min  ›  Extra time:1hr marinating  ›  Ready in:1hr5min 

  1. Put the garlic, ginger, lemon juice, soy sauce, honey and Tabasco® in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Put the chicken pieces and fish fillets into a large bowl, pour in the marinade and toss.
  3. Cover with cling film and marinate for at least 1 hour.


Please note that if you, like me, are allergic to Capsicum be vigilant about the ingredients of the Tabasco.
