Delicious poppy seed biscuits


    These poppyseed biscuits are truly delectable and melt-in-your-mouth. I love to bake with poppy seeds, they impart a stunning aroma and extra crunchiness.

    Makes: 50 poppyseed biscuits

    • 200g butter
    • 4 tablespoons icing sugar
    • 1 egg white
    • 35g poppyseeds
    • 250g plain flour

    1. Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 6. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
    2. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy, then add the egg white and continue to beat until smooth. Add in the poppy seeds and stir.
    3. Add the flour to the mixture and mix until well incorporated, about 5 minutes. Spoon the mixture into a piping bag and pipe into desired shapes on prepared baking tray.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until they turn just lightly golden. Remove from the heat and transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.


    Take care not to keep the cookies in the oven for too long, just long enough to turn lightly golden, otherwise they will dry out.
