This savoury chocolate sauce with red peppers, onion, tomato and spices goes well with any white meat.

Ingredients

a little olive oil
2 marinated red peppers in oil, chopped
2 onions
450g passata
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 pinch nutmeg
1 pinch cinnamon
1 ladle vegetable stock
100g plain chocolate
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
ground black pepper

Heat olive oil in large frying pan, add peppers and onions and fry for 5 minutes.
Add passata, all of the spices and stock. Mix together and let simmer for 15 minutes, tasting and adjusting seasoning as needed. Add chocolate and stir until melted, then sprinkle with cocoa.
Simmer, stirring until sauce is well blended and thickened; remove from heat and serve.
