About this recipe: Pork chops served with a tasty cider gravy! Doesn't take long to make at all! Serve with creamy mashed potato and veg.

Serves: 4 

  • 4 pork chops
  • salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 300ml cider
  • 500ml pork stock, made from a stock cube
  • 2 tablespoons gravy powder

  1. Preheat the grill. Season the chops with a little salt then grill until no longer pink at the centre, 8 to 10 minutes on each side.
  2. Meanwhile prepare the gravy: Heat the oil in a pan, add the shallots, and cook gently until softened. Add the cider and boil rapidly for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the stock and bring to the boil and then simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Mix the gravy powder with a little cold water. Whisk into the gravy and cook, stirring, until thickened.
  5. Serve the gravy over the top of the cooked pork chops.
