Easy whole meal bread

    4 hours 5 min

This is an almost no fail recipe for a tasty whole meal bread with a great crunchy crust. It never lasts long. My husband often eats half the loaf when it is still warm.

    1. Sift the flours into a big bowl, add salt and mix well. Make a well in the middle and add yeast and warm water. Knead well for about 15 minutes. Cover with a damp and clean tea towel and let rise in a warm place for 2 hours.
    2. Knead again, cover and let rise for another 1 hour.
    3. Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 7.
    4. Form dough into a loaf and place on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. Make 3 incisions on top with a sharp knife.
    5. Bake until tapping on the bottom of the bread makes a hollow sound, about 40 minutes.

You can also divide the dough into little buns. Make sure to reduce the baking time to 25 to 30 minutes.
