Homemade salsa

    Easy to make and superb as a summer starter, served with salty, crunchy tortilla chips and maybe some guacamole on the side.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 2 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and seeded
    • 1 small onion
    • 1 lime, juiced
    • salt and black pepper
    • 1 bunch fresh coriander, finely chopped
    • 1 dash hot sauce (optional)

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Extra time:15min chilling  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Chop the tomato and onion into small pieces, and stir together in a small bowl. Stir in the lime juice and season well with salt and pepper.
    2. Add coriander to the tomato mixture. Season generously with salt and pepper and add hot sauce to taste, if liked.
    3. Chill for about 15 minutes before serving.
