Easy fresh chorizo, red pepper and chilli pizza

    40 min

It's a myth that pizza is hard to make at home. This recipe proves that no only is it easy, but its fast too and probably the best pizza you've ever tasted. Make a couple and freeze them too if you're so inclined! It's as good as ordering pizza delivery.

    Makes: 1 pizza

    • 300g strong plain bread flour
    • 1 teaspoon dried yeast
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 200ml warm water
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 125ml passata
    • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
    • handful of chopped fresh basil
    • 125g fresh mozzarella, torn into pieces
    • 100g chorizo, cut into 5mm slices (or to taste)
    • 1 red pepper, sliced
    • 1 chilli, chopped

    1. Preheat oven to 240 C / Gas 8.
    2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast and salt and then make a well in the centre.
    3. Pour the warm water into the middle and work it in to create a smooth dough texture. Knead this for 5 minutes until fully smooth and stretchy.
    4. Use a rolling pin to create a sheet of dough that is only 2mm thick. Place this on a pizza baking tray and cut out. Leave for 5 minutes to proof and settle.
    5. Mix the passata with crushed garlic and basil, and spread all over the base. Add the torn up pieces of fresh mozzarella and add any toppings you want. Scatter the chorizo all over the base along with the peppers and chopped up chilli.
    6. Place in the hot oven for around 8 to 10 minutes. This cooks extremely fast as it is fresh and very thin. Take it out when it is cooked to your liking

It really is that easy, and you can have takeaway style pizza without a delivery in under an hour.
