Slow cooker paprika beef and gnocchi

About this recipe: A lovely warming dish, perfect for autumn, winter evenings. Serve with fresh bread for a filling supper.

Serves: 2 

  • 225g lean beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tin tomatoes
  • 100ml stock or water
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar (preferably brown)
  • 1/2 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 200g fresh gnocchi

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:4hr  ›  Ready in:4hr10min 

  1. Brown the beef in a pan and transfer to the slow cooker. Use same pan to fry onion, garlic and spices, before adding to slow cooker. Add tomatoes, stock, sugar and puree.
  2. Cook 4 hours on High or 8 hours on Low.
  3. Add the gnocchi to the slow cooker 20-25 minutes before serving.
  4. Enjoy with fresh bread or a side salad!

Made this today and it was so tasty! Didn't bother browning meat beforehand as I never do when using slow cooker. Will definitely be making this again! - 08 Oct 2015
