Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook the onion until soft, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the red pepper, tomatoes and tomato puree; simmer for 15 minutes.
Mix in the beans, sausage, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Gently simmer until the sausage is cooked through, about 10 minutes.
