Quick apple crumble tart

    This is a super easy version of apple tart made using shop-bought pastry and a quick and easy crumble topping.

    Makes: 1 apple tart

    • 1 sheet ready-made shortcrust pastry
    • 2 tablespoons marmalade
    • 2 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
    • 55g (2 oz) margarine
    • 110g (4 oz) plain flour
    • 55g (2 oz) sugar

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas mark 5.
    2. Line a tart tin or shallow pie dish with the pastry and spread with marmalade.
    3. Gently cook the apples in a saucepan until soft, about 5 minutes. Place apples on top of marmalade.
    4. Rub the margarine into the flour; add the sugar. Sprinkle the apples with the crumble mixture.
    5. Bake in the preheated oven until the pastry is cooked and the crumble is golden, 20 to 30 minutes.
