Toffee rice crispy squares

    Elevate your favourite rice crispy squares to something truly decadent with the addition of toffee. Good luck just having one square!

    Makes: 16 to 24 squares

    • 110g (4 oz) margarine
    • 110g (4 oz) slab creamy toffee, cut into pieces
    • 110g (4 oz) marshmallows
    • 100g (4 oz) crispy rice cereal, like Rice Krispies®
    • glace cherries (optional)

    1. Grease a shallow Swiss roll tin.
    2. Combine the margarine, toffee and marshmallows in a large pan; stir over gentle heat until melted and well blended. Remove from the heat and fold in rice cereal; press into prepared tin. Decorate with cherries.
    3. Leave to set in a cool place; cut into squares.

    Went down very well. As my little girl couldn't eat chocolate for a while these were a great alternative  -  08 May 2015
