Baked acorn sqash

    This is a basic recipe for acorn squash, cooked in the oven. Simple and without any seasoning, which can take away from the characteristic flavour of the squash.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1 acorn squash
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 knobs butter

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:45min 

    1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
    2. Cut acorn squash in half, but do not remove the seeds. Put on a baking tray cut side up and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until soft.
    3. Scrape out and discard the seeds and fibres. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add knob of butter to each half and serve.
