About this recipe: This is the best, the easiest and the most delicious ice cream you will ever taste. It looks, scoops and tastes like the real thing but is a fraction of the cost and you can customise it to be just the flavour YOU want it to be! Never buy ice cream ever again! This is a true fave in our home where previously 'brands' meant everything in the ice cream category!

Serves: 8 

  • 1/2 Cup Icing/Powdered Sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 300ml cream

  1. Pour the cream, add the vanilla essence and beat until thick and then set aside in the refrigerator.
  2. Beat the egg yolks and gradually add a quarter cup of the sugar. Beat until pale and thick. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and gradually add the rest of the sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Add the cream to the egg whites and then add the yolks. With a large metal spoon, fold gently until just combined.
  5. Pour into a 1.5-2L container, cover and then freeze for six hours or until frozen.


We have used Flakes that we've broken up and folded into the cream and cut Perky Nanas into the cream too for our ice cream tonight. Yummy! Enjoy!
