Easy tasty chunky lasagne

    A lovely lasagne dish that has many levels that is loved by family and friends(and nurses at the hospital)

    Makes: 1 lasagne

    • 1 pack of lasagne sheets
    • 500-750g bolognaise sauce depending on how tomatoey you like, preferably the jar with extra onion
    • 2 cloves garlic,diced
    • 1 large onion,roughly chopped
    • 2 bell peppers(yellow or green makes more colourful), roughly chopped
    • approx 300g-400g closed cup mushrooms,peeled, stalks removed and quartered
    • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
    • 400g mince
    • jar of white lasagne sauce(i like to make myself if have more time)
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 50g grated cheese
    • optional extras: i add a few splashes of worchester sauce for depth, and to thicken it up i squirt in tomato ketchup and HP sauce. you can also add chillies for a kick if you like

    1. preheat oven to 180c.brown onions and garlic and chillies if adding(dont add oil,the onions produce own juice), then add mince and brown that off as well
    2. add bolognaise sauce, veg and tin of tomatoes (and the optional extras if using),stir well then leave to simmer for half an hour
    3. layer the bolognaise,cheese sauce and pasta sheets in a rectangular oven proof dish(i like to go: meat,pasta,cheese,pasta,meat,pasta,cheese).
    4. sprinkle grated cheese on top and put in oven for 30-40mins or til cheese bubbles on top and the sauces bubbles below surface
    5. left overs taste great next day too
