Chocolate honeycomb

    this is a lovely treat for bonfire nights or a nice treat just to eat any time

    Serves: 8 

    • 5oz granulated suger
    • 2tbsp Liquid Glucose
    • 2 tbsp Honey
    • 2 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
    • 7oz Milk cooking chocolate
    • 2 tbsp of water

    1. Spray or Grease a 7ins square cake tin
    2. Place the sugar honey liquid glucose & the water in a sausepan
    3. Heat and stir till the sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil and cook for 3 minutes do not stir a this stage
    4. when the mixture as turned a deep golden caramel colour remove from heat
    5. then stir in the bicarbonate soda thoroughly the mixture will immediately foam in the pan
    6. quickly pour into the tin while it is still foaming leave to cool and set
    7. Remove from the tin at this stage I put it in another tin ready to coat in chocolate break the chocolate into small pieces and place in a bowl
    8. place in a saucepan with a little simmering water while all the chocolate as melted then pour over the Honey comb
    9. leave to set then break into pieces keep in a airtight tin


    I use a square silicon baking tin it much easier to remove it's a struggle to remove from the cake tin other wise this is a much easier way
