About this recipe: A tried and tested family recipe for a barbecue vinegar marinade for meat or vegetables. The marinade freezes well and can be conveniently stored until needed.

Makes: 300 ml marinade

  • 125ml (4 1/2 fl oz) malt vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato purée
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 170ml (6 fl oz) water

  1. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix well. Use as a marinade for meat and for basting meat while barbecuing.


This marinade can be conveniently frozen and then thawed when needed.
