About this recipe:These soft biscuits are great for kids birthday parties - they are easy to hold and nice and soft in the centre. Set up a range of coloured icing and bowls of sprinkles and let them decorate until their heart's content!
Makes: 5 dozen biscuits
225g butter, softened
225ml vegetable oil
200g caster sugar
120g icing sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
550g plain flour
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas mark 5. Grease 2 or 3 large baking sheets.
Cream together butter, oil, caster sugar and icing sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Combine flour, bicarbonate of soda and cream of tartar; stir into sugar mixture until just combined. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking trays, but leave some space beside them as they may spread out a little.
Bake in the preheated oven until bottoms are lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to wire cookling racks.
Well I followed this recipe exactly and they somehow ended up as cakes
Dont get me wrong they were really nice
Just they ended up as cakes
