About this recipe:
This meatless mushroom roast tastes good with carrots, mashed potatoes or baked potatoes and white sauce.
150g (5 oz) mushrooms
25g (1 oz) margarine or oil
100g (4 oz) grated cheese
100g (4 oz) dried breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon Marmite® or other yeast extract
salt and black pepper, to taste
- Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
- Wash and slice mushrooms. Chop onion and cook with mushrooms in margarine or oil for 10 minutes over low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese, crumbs, egg, yeast extract and seasoning.
- Put into greased pie dish and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
I made this for my sister for Christmas dinner and it was delicious
