About this recipe: An unusual and delicious combination of cumin and coffee make this roast pork leg a treat for any occasion. The best part about this recipe is that it uses simple ingredients and is so easy to prepare!


Serves: 6 

  • 200g plain yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
  • 1.5kg boneless pork leg roasting joint
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
  2. Mix yoghurt, cumin, sugar and coffee granules in a small bowl until sugar and coffee dissolve. Place pork, fat side up, in a roasting tin. Sprinkle with salt and pepper then spread 1/3 of yoghurt mixture over the pork. Turn the joint over and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spread remaining yoghurt mixture over the joint.
  3. Roast in the preheated oven, uncovered, about 1 hour or until internal temperature measured with a meat thermometer reaches 70 degrees C. Remove from oven, and let rest about 10 minutes before slicing to serve.
