Smoked salmon pate on bagel toasts

About this recipe: Tasty hot smoked salmon recipe! A great party recipe, starter or a delicious snack! Very easy to make, and it only takes about 15 minutes before you can sit down and enjoy the delicious taste! Shetland, Scotland, UK

Makes: 12 

  • 3 bagels
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 125g (4 oz) smoked salmon
  • 150g (5 oz) light cream cheese
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced and zested
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • small bunch of washed watercress

Prep:9min  ›  Cook:6min  ›  Ready in:15min 

  1. Cut each bagel into 4 thin slices. Brush each with olive oil and bake at 200 C / Gas 6 for 5 to 6 minutes until golden and crisp. Allow to cool.
  2. Mash the salmon, cream cheese and lemon juice together with a little black pepper. Leave it flaky or continue to mash it until you have the consistency you desire.
  3. Pile onto the bagel crisps and sprinkle with lemon zest and watercress.
