Homemade strawberry jam

    a delicious jam that i have been told has been in my family for 83 years. made by me lots and i have never had a bad jar.

    Makes: 6 jars strawberry jam

    • 1.5lb strawberries
    • 2 tbsp apple juice
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • cold water if needed

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:50min 

    1. Chop the strawberries and put into saucepan with the apple and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
    2. cook on a low heat, mashing often with a wooden spoon until the mixture is thick and smooth. watch the jam doesn't burn,and add cold water if mix seem to thick, but keep water to a minimum.
    3. pour into sterilized, warmed jars and seal.
    4. can stay in the fridge for up to 2 weeks


    you can try swapping strawberries for any other berry or even experiment with a mixture of berries.
