Basic easy peasy beer bread

    This is a really lovely crusty bread that is sweet and hoppy flavoured. It fills the kitchen with a lovely smell too! A very simple and fast beer bread.

    Makes: 1 loaf bread

    • 375g self raising flour
    • 3 tablespoons caster sugar
    • 375ml beer

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:50min  ›  Ready in:55min 

    1. Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
    2. Sift flour into a large bowl. Thoroughly mix in caster sugar. Pour in beer and whisk together quickly, making sure all flour is included.
    3. Pour into a greased loaf tin.
    4. Bake for 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until bread sounds hollow, when tapped on the bottom.
