Cheesy pork schnitzel

    A quick an easy recipe for pork schnitzel with Emmental cheese. This recipe varies from the more traditional schnitzel which usually call for the addition of breadcrumbs to coat the meat.

    Serves: 4 

    • 600g pork escalopes
    • salt and pepper, to taste
    • paprika, to taste
    • 300 to 400g grated Emmental cheese
    • 250ml single cream
    • butter, for dotting

    1. Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 7.
    2. Sprinkle the pork with salt, pepper and paprika.
    3. Grease a large ovenproof casserole dish. Place pork inside and cover with the Emmental cheese. Pour the cream over the top and dot with butter.
    4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from the oven and serve hot.


    You can prepare the schnitzel the evening before and keep in the fridge until the next day. Just pop in the oven and prepare the sides.
    Natur Schnitzel (naturally) is the name given to a cutlet that is cooked without being bread-crumbed.
