Pork, apple and rosemary burgers

    A quick and easy alternative to beef burgers, these pork burgers are flavoured with apples and rosemary.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 8 pork burgers

    • 1 large onion, finely chopped
    • 1 granny smith apple, peeled and grated
    • 750g minced pork
    • 1 tablespoon apple sauce
    • 2 teaspoons rosemary
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 1 pinch ground black pepper
    • 75g white breadcrumbs

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:40min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / 180 C Fan / Gas 6.
    2. Place the onion, apple, mince, apple sauce, rosemary, salt and pepper into a large bowl and mix together. Slowly add the breadcrumbs to the mixture until it holds together.
    3. Shape the mixture into 8 patties by hand and place on a baking tray lined with baking parchment.
    4. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes until cooked through.

    Tip

    Can be served with salad and potato wedges.

    Left out the onion so that youngest child would eat this, substituted apple sauce for sweet chilli sauce, absolutely delicious, very juicy. I usually fry or grill burgers but this tasted good even baked. Will definitely make again.  -  01 Jun 2016
