Delicious chocolate oat bars


    These chocolate oat bars are absolutely delicious! As soon as you try these, you'll get addicted to them.

    Serves: 12 

    • 5 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
    • 2 tablespoons water
    • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 5 tablespoons finely chopped almonds
    • 40g desiccated coconut
    • 350g smooth peanut butter
    • 120g porridge oats

    1. Combine maple syrup, water and cocoa in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Stir vigorously and remove from heat.
    2. Stir in the almonds, coconut and peanut butter. Once well combined, stir in oats.
    3. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Place mixture on tray and with wet hands, shape into a rectangle, about 1 inch thick. Cut into 12 squares and separate.
    4. Freeze squares on baking tray for 30 to 45 minutes. Transfer to a freezer container or freezer bag, and store in the freezer till serving.
