About this recipe: Classic shortbread but with caramel sauce added. Was looking in my cupboard and found I needed to use the sauce and decided to try it. They have gone down a treat with both my hubby and my kids. Makes 8-12 depending on size.

Makes: 8 to 12 biscuits

  • 175g (6 oz) plain flour
  • 55g (2 oz) caster sugar
  • 110g (4 oz) butter or margarine
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons caramel sauce

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
  2. Sift flour and sugar into a large mixing bowl. Rub in butter until it looks like fresh breadcrumbs. Add the caramel sauce and rub in (this bit can get messy).
  3. Roll into balls and flatten on a lined and greased tray.
  4. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
