First get your pot of water on the cooker and get it to boiling point. At this stage put your rice in and start cooking.
Next get a frying pan and place over medium high heat. Add the oil and once warm add the garlic and then the steak. When the steak is just beginning to brown, throw in your mushrooms, onion, herbs, salt and pepper.
Just as the steak is almost browned on all sides, crumble in the stock cubes and then add the crème fraîche or cream.
Now at this stage keep stirring to make sure that it doesn't stick to the pan. After about 2 minutes you can reduce the heat and let it simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
Now your rice should be cooked at this stage. Drain and place one bag of rice on each plate. Top with the stroganoff mixture and enjoy!
For a healthier option switch the cream for the crème fraîche as it has 70% less fat. Perfect for a Slimming World menu. I hope you enjoy.
