Loz's braised lamb steaks

    This meal smells and tastes scrummy, and is so easy to prepare. Serve with creamy mashed potato and steamed cabbage or what ever veg you like. You will really enjoy it as the gravy is so rich and tasty. Hope you like it as much as I do.

    Serves: 4 

    • 4 to 6 lamb steaks
    • 2 onions, sliced
    • 3 carrots, sliced
    • 1.5 to 2L boiling water
    • 3 gravy stock pots
    • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
    • 1 splash Worcestershire sauce
    • salt and black pepper, to taste
    • Bisto® pork gravy granules

    1. Put carrots and onions in a casserole dish. Lay lamb steaks on top. Pour the water in the dish and add stock pots. Add the rosemary and thyme and season with salt and pepper.
    2. Place in a 180 C / 160 C Fan / Gas 4 oven for at least 2 hours, or until meat and carrots are nice and tender. At the end of cooking time, add the pork gravy granules to thicken.


    You could omit some of the water and add red wine for that extra special taste. Hope you enjoy. Serve with creamy mashed potato and steamed cabbage or veg of your choice.
