Combine all the fruit and sugar in a large bowl, add the hot tea, stir the mixture and leave to steep for approx 8 hours or overnight.
Butter the loaf tin and line the bottom with greaseproof paper
Stir in the beaten egg and flour into the fruit and tea mixture, mix thoroughly.
Turn into the greased loaf tin.
Bake in a pre heated oven at 150 C (300 F) or Gas 2 for 1 1/2--2 hrs.until well risen and firm to the touch, a skewer inserted into the middle should come out clean, leave to cool in the tin for approx: 15 mins, turn out on to a wire rack and peel of greaseproof paper...Leave to cool completely and serve....butter optional.
It's better to soak your fruit overnight if possible.
