    • 200g self raising flour

    Prep:30min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:1hr5min

    1. Set the oven for 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a cake tin.
    2. Beat together 100g of butter and 100g of sugar. Beat in two eggs, then sieve in 100g of flour gradually.
    3. Get a different bowl and add the remaining butter and sugar; beat well. Beat in the remaining eggs, then sieve in the remaining flour and the cocoa powder.
    4. Alternately spoon the two mixtures into the prepared tray. Do not mix. You can draw a skewer through the mixture at the end to create a further marbled effect.
    5. Bake the cake in to the oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden. Allow to cool.
    6. For the sauce, melt the white chocolate and milk chocolate separately (you can do this in the microwave using short 30-second bursts).
    7. Slice the cake horizontally to get two halves. Place the bottom half on a serving plate, then top with the two chocolates. Place the second layer on top and drizzle with any remaining chocolate.

Amazing recipe. I made this for my friends and they LOVED it! They didn't understand how I got the marbled effect. I drizzled it with a naughty caramel sauce and it was like heaven on earth. Well done 'breezerthebest'!  -  14 Apr 2014

Brilliant recipe. I used dairy free butter and dairy free chocolate but recipe was so easy and went down the treat. (had to stop the kids eating the batter lol.)  -  25 Feb 2015
