    About this recipe: This cake is a real show winner. You can taste all the different flavors when eating this delicious cake. Highly recommended.

    Makes: 1 cake

    • 225g (8 oz) caster sugar
    • 225g (8 oz) butter or margarine
    • 4 eggs
    • 225g (8 oz) plain flour
    • 2 handfuls sultanas
    • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
    • 1 cooking apple - peeled, cored and chopped
    • jam of choice

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:50min 

    1. Combine sugar and margarine and mix well. Add eggs and beat till well combined. Then add the flour, sultanas and cinnamon, mix well, then fold in the apples. Divide between two greased cake trays.
    2. Bake in a preheated 180 C / Gas 4 oven for 35 minutes, or till a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool.
    3. Once cool, spread jam on one layer then put the other layer on top. Enjoy.
