Garlic sweetcorn

    As sweetcorn harvest approaches us in August, I thought this would be a lovely recipe for a quick delicious snack or side dish. Just pop the sweetcorn into the oven and let the flavours infuse.

    Makes: 1 corn on the cob

    • 1 corn on the cob
    • 1/2 tablespoon butter
    • 1 clove garlic, finely sliced
    • sea salt, to taste

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Brush the butter and garlic over the corn. Season with sea salt. Wrap the corn on the cob tightly in foil.
    3. Bake the corn directly on the middle shelf of the oven for 35 minutes, until golden and tender.


    To add a spicy twist, you can add a dash of lime and some paprika in step 2.
