About this recipe: Nothing is easier than homemade pesto sauce. Whip up a batch in no time and dress your pasta properly for dinner!

Serves: 2 

  • 1 handful basil leaves
  • 1 handful pine nuts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

  1. Combine all ingredients in the food processor and blend to a paste. Use right away with pasta or place in a sealed container and store in the fridge until needed.


Pesto will keep for ages in the fridge if you transfer it to a sterilised container when it is made and then pop it in the fridge. A day later add a layer of olive oil over the top so that the air is unable to get to it. Just keep using the pesto and topping up the oil.
