About this recipe: These lovely ginger biscuits are a staple in our household, infact I will go so far as to say that there is a mutiny when we run out. Excellent biscuit, great flavour and texture.

Serves: 12 

  • 110g margarine
  • 110g caster sugar
  • 110g self raising flour
  • 85g rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon treacle
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon warm water
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a baking tray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix well. Form into small balls then press down onto the prepared tray with a fork to make the biscuit.
  3. Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a rack before enjoying.
