My daughter and I thought this up when we wanted to make a chocolate cake but had apples to use up. It turned out to be a very yummy chocolate cake which is moist because of the grated apple and gooey because of the chocolate chips!

Absolutely delicious. May add a little more apple next time. Topped it with toffee icing as it was for a work colleague's birthday, everyone loved it. Was a little dubious not to be using self raising flour but it baked beautifully. Shall be making another very soon.  -  11 Sep 2017
