Slow cooker rice pudding

    This lovely slow cooker rice pudding is creamy and delicious. Perfect for an easy dessert any night of the week. Serve with a dollop or two of your favourite fruit compote.

    Serves: 4 

    • 110g pudding rice
    • 1.5L milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • 55g dark brown sugar

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:3hr  ›  Ready in:3hr5min 

    1. Preheat the slow cooker to high. In a saucepan, heat the milk and add the spices and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Pour into the slow cooker then add the rice. Cook covered for 3 hours, stirring after each hour.
    2. Spoon into warm bowls and serve.

    Yum! So much easier in the slow cooker and the dark brown sugar is a tasty addition. Just don't forget to stir it- it's not really something you can just leave cooking and forget about. Thanks for the recipe.  -  16 Aug 2015

    Having tried a multiple of slow cooker rice pudding recipes and not finding a good one I was on the point of giving up when I came across this one-it's perfect! No tweaking necessary. The ratio of rice to milk was spot on, as were the timings. It was delicious, beautifully creamy and it is now my go to recipe. Loved it.  -  03 Feb 2015
