These American style barbecue teriyaki chicken wings are sticky and sweet, perfect as a finger-licking starter or alongside a salad.

2 tablespoons minced root ginger
200g runny honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
200ml soy sauce
2 tablespoons cornflour
1 tablespoon cold water
900g chicken wings

Preheat the barbecue to a medium high heat.
In a saucepan over a medium heat, combine the ginger, honey, garlic and soy sauce. Dissolve the cornflour in cold water. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens. Arrange the wings in the base of a baking dish and pour the sauce over. Toss to ensure the wings are well coated.
Arrange the wings on the barbecue and cook for 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until the chicken is no longer pink in the centre.
