Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 900g loaf tin and line with baking parchment.
In a large mixing bowl, sift in the flour then add the cocoa powder, baking powder and ground almonds. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and the sugar until pale and fluffy then add the eggs, beating well after each addition. Add the oil, yoghurt and vanilla extract. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and smooth the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 80 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 1 hour prior to slicing and serving.
