About this recipe: Everytime I serve this dish people want the recipe..... And there is never any leftovers. A simple dish created from bits I had leftover one Sunday evening. Now a firm family favourite. Very tasty & easily amended to suit family taste buds.

  • 500g Chicken breast or thigh
  • 200g chorizo
  • Chicken stock cube (just sprinkled in)
  • Carton of passata
  • 2 tbsp Thyme
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 onion ( diced)
  • 3 garlic cloves crushed
  • One red chilli deseeded
  • One can of cannelloni beans
  • 500g gnocchi
  • One tin of chopped tomatoes
  • Olive oil


  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan and add the chicken - cook until the meat is white. Add the stock cube.
  2. Add the onion, garlic & chilli - cook on low heat to ensure they don't crisp.
  3. Once the onion is soften add the tin & carton of tomatoes. Add the seasoning. Bring to the boil & simmer.
  4. Once simmering add the beans and chorizo and simmer with the lid on for at least 40 mins.


Can also be cooked in a slow cooker - just put all the ingredients in together & cook on low for 8 hours. Serve with crust bread. If looking slightly dry add water to get the texture you desire. The chorizo adds lots of flavours - however add more chilli for a bit more of a kick.
