Simple honey flapjacks

    These flapjacks are sweetened with all-natural honey instead of sugar and are just delicious. Try adding dried fruits or nuts to the mix.

    Serves: 16 

    • 300g porridge oats
    • 200g butter
    • 7 to 8 tablespoons honey

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Pre heat oven to 180 C / Gas 4, and grease and line a traybake tin.
    2. Melt the butter over a low heat. Stir in the honey and mix for a few minutes. Now, add the oats and stir well, so the oats are evenly coated. Spread the mixture evenly on the tin and press down.
    3. Pop in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the top is slightly golden.
    4. Leave to cool completely, cut in to squares and enjoy!


    50g of dried fruit, nuts or coconut can be added to this recipe, or substitute the butter with coconut oil as a dairy free alternative.

    Good recipe for my training, the honey makes it work for my diet. If something's too crumbly, adjust the amounts of wet stuff.  -  09 Nov 2015


    Lovely - added dried mulberries. next time though I'll reduce the amount of honey to 8 dessertspoons as they were a bit sticky even though I used rather more oats than the recipe called for  -  10 Aug 2015
