    About this recipe: Full of flavour and hot! This tomato and chicken soup is not for the faint of heart, it's for spice lovers only! Eat with garlic bread or rice.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes
    • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
    • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
    • 1 tablespoon hot chilli powder
    • 1 tablespoon curry powder
    • 1 tablespoon madras paste
    • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
    • 1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
    • 1 onion, thinly chopped
    • 1 red pepper, sliced
    • 1 green or red chilli, sliced
    • 2 small chillies, chopped
    • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
    • 1 tablespoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 500g diced chicken
    • 350ml water
    • 125ml milk

    Method
    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Extra time:1hr marinating  ›  Ready in:1hr35min 

    1. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl apart from the chicken, milk and water. Then marinate the diced chicken in all the mixed together ingredients for 1 hour.
    2. Afterwards, add all the marinade and chicken in a large saucepan along with the water and milk. Bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink in the centre.
